Our commitments at Cotélac

At Cotélac, each season our teams are committed to selecting durable, high-quality materials, showcasing the expertise of our partner workshops, and prioritizing more environmentally friendly solutions. This demanding approach is fueled by the same spirit of creativity and innovation that has driven the company since its inception.

From mother-of-pearl to corozo, nature at the heart of the gesture

At Cotélac, because every detail counts, all our buttons are made from natural materials: mother-of-pearl, from pearl farming, and corozo, fruit of the ivory palm.

Chosen for their resistance and beauty, these materials embody our search for authenticity and durability, right down to the most discreet finishes.

Expertise and materials, a mastered alchemy

The pleating, puckering, and sublimation techniques are all carried out in our workshop in Ambérieu-en-Bugey, France. These processes, which make Cotélac unique, require polyester-based materials to ensure durability and rich, long-lasting effects.

In order to combine textile innovation and environmental requirements, we favour blends of certified recycled fibers or polyesters.

These creations are our most iconic pieces, the ones we keep and pass on.

Our iconic pieces

Bamboo, paper, kapok...

Since creation and innovation are at the genesis of each of our pieces, Cotélac is constantly searching for new materials and technologies to be able to produce them.

Our collections thus contain very varied and sometimes surprising compositions:

  • the paper, which is valued for its dry, fresh appearance and its distinctive feel
  • Bamboo, which provides softness and fluidity and whose cultivation requires four times less water than cotton
  • Kapok, a silky and lightweight plant fiber, is used for its elasticity and heat resistance.
  • The wood fiber is biodegradable and allows for greater breathability.
  • cupro, which is used as an alternative to silk because of its more environmentally friendly manufacturing process.

A strong local presence and exceptional expertise
