The different pleats
Discover the secrets of the pleats found on our pieces. Each one has a different use and effect.
Our design team has fun with them to offer you ever more original and creative collections: when the work with textile material becomes a creation to be lived in.
The flat fold
A classic pleat in ready-to-wear. It can be found in particular in timeless pleated skirts: this pleat gives volume and fullness to the garment.
The chevron fold
Like the flat pleat, the chevron pleat gives fullness and volume to the garment on which it is applied. Thanks to its particular shape, it creates V or zigzag patterns.
This fold is worked at Cotélac in different ways, combining, for example, sections of folded fabric and sections of smooth fabric to offer ever more originality in our creations.
The crystal fold
The crystal pleat is a very tight pleat. It gives the garment texture as well as a certain suppleness.
The fabric takes on a satin or glossy appearance when playing with the light.
The wavy fold
The wavy fold could be associated with the flat fold. It differs in the waves that the undulation creates.
Combined with sublimation, the wavy fold produces increasingly original visual effects.
